Hello! 

I’m Julie Potter, a final year second degree medical student at Cardiff University. I completed my dental degree at the University of Birmingham, finishing in 2017 and then worked across the UK doing DCT jobs in OMFS, oral surgery, special care dentistry and cleft/OMFS before committing myself to the second degree in 2022. I did mainly first on call locums throughout medical school and then got a contracted OMFS second on call part time job for the last year and a bit of the degree. 

As I am coming to the end of Cardiff medical school now, I hope I am in a good position to give insight into life in Cardiff as a 2nd degree student, help with networking for the local OMFS units or just answering any questions you may have about the process – which I definitely found stressful when applying with lots of unknowns!
