Cambridge
I am currently a 2nd Degree Medical Student at Cambridge University (having previously studied Dentistry at Cardiff.) I’ve been fortunate to benefit from the JTG over the years through attending conferences and organised talks. A key aspect that has been of high value to me has been the opportunity to share experiences and listen to the advice of peers who have gone through and are currently going through the OMFS pathway. By applying to this role this is something I hope to contribute to.
I have gained experience in various organisational and representative roles including: Dental School (BDSA/conference), organising sports teams and arranging social events. In my personal life I’ve always had a keen interest participating in sports in and outside of university, frequently attend a wide variety of gigs and music festivals in addition to a longstanding involvement with a social mobility charity.
I work locally in Cambridge and can provide a link between the University and local department who play a key role in supporting junior trainees. I have already organised OMFS related talks and events in Cambridge and helped support prospective students applying for their second degree. I aim to play a role and offer continuation of the work of predecessors and those in the local department in Cambridge to showcase the specialty and provide support and advice for those pursuing a 2nd degree.
