Mairéad Kelly
Hi! I'm Mairéad, and I’m delighted to be the JTM rep for 2025. I am a dual- qualified FY1 doctor, and was JTG Chair for 2024, as well as JTG Secretary for 2023. I graduated from dentistry at Trinity College Dublin in 2018 and worked as a dental house officer in Dublin for a year, before moving to the UK. For 2 years I was lucky enough to work as a DCT in OMFS with the fantastic team in Sheffield, before completing my medical degree at the University of Manchester.
Outside of work and study, I enjoy running and triathlons, and am really looking forward to doing more events over the year! I'm also a keen musician, I sing with the Hallé Choir, play the guitar, and play traditional Irish music in my free time. I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved over my time in the JTG over the last 2 years, including multiple successful conferences, working on the "State of Play" report which was presented to BAOMS council, growing the JTG to unprecedented numbers, and gaining free eMRCS access to help JTG members looking to sit the exam.
It has truly been an honour and a privilege to represent OMFS trainees over the last 2 years and I'm looking forward to what this year will bring for the JTG. I’m incredibly excited to work with the rest of the committee this year to continue representing junior trainees in OMFS - my inbox is always open, and I'm always happy to help!
