Hi, my name is Cara, and I’m currently an intercalating medical student in Anatomy at the University of Dundee, progressing into my fourth year next year. My interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery began in second year after attending a lecture by one of the consultants, which really sparked my curiosity about the specialty. Since then, I’ve gained some hands-on experience through clinical placements and time in theatre, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity to learn more about the field. I have a particular interest in head and neck anatomy, which has been a key focus during my intercalated degree and has further deepened my enthusiasm for OMFS. While I’m still at the early stages of the training pathway, I’m keen to share the insights I’ve gathered so far and help promote the specialty to fellow students!
