Hi, my name is Cara, and I’m currently a fourth-year medical student at University of Dundee, having completed my intercalated degree in Anatomy last year.
My interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery began in second year after attending a lecture by one of the consultants, which really sparked my curiosity about the specialty. Since then, I’ve gained hands-on experience through clinical placements and time in theatre, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity to learn more about the field.
I have a particular interest in head and neck anatomy, which was a key focus during my intercalated degree and further deepened my enthusiasm for OMFS. Although I’m still in the early stages of the training pathway, I’m keen to share the insights I’ve gathered so far and help promote the specialty to fellow students!
