Online Teaching Series Introducing you to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

New to OMFS? Just started your DCT job, or have an upcoming FY2 rotation? This is the teaching series for you!

We will explained everything you need to know about working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, from what the specialty actually does, the idiosyncrasies of working in a hospital, and how to deal with common presentations of both ward and emergency patients on the job.

All lectures are CPD-verified with certificates issued on completion of feedback.

• 7/10/25 - DCT’s and Hospitals - Referrals, Discharge summaries, Speaking to Medical Specialties

• 14/10/25 - OMFS for FY2’s; the black hole in the medical curriculum

• 21/10/25 - Facial Trauma and Imaging (OPG/XR Facial Bones)

• 28/10/25 - Acute TMD and facial infections (date TBC)

• 4/11/25 - BREAK FOR JTG CONFERENCE

• 11/11/25 - Managing the Wards; Ward rounds, tracheostomy care, flaps, NG’s
  (date TBC)

• 18/11/25 - The Deteriorating Ward Patient - Post-op Complications (date TBC)
